We had the Midas touch.
Aside from the black forehead due to the sunburn and losing some good fats-and not to forget my torn cornet shoe-the survey was a resounding success. We always kicked off the day for the survey at 6 am with Suchetha Satish's 'To dang tsem'-the first song in Sherub's (our chauffeur) favorite playlist. This would literally fill our stomachs.
This was not the end; he would crack a humorous joke, which I sometimes didn't understand, but I would join the team in bringing the world down with seismic laughter.
My team was a safe pair of hands. When we met, we hit it off instantly. There was a reason for this rekindle- we all studied in the same college. Further, I learned that I taught one of them as an adjunct lecturer at the college. It was Chimi Wangmo aka JB. While Pema Zangmo was my junior.
My bad! I remained shamefaced for a while.
However, like there is an old saying, "All good things must come to an end", the reunion was short but fun and fruitful. We learnt a lot from each other. We shared our time together talking about the old college memories. It was really rejuvenating.
